The Halloween Charity event and Open House was great! The blood mobile received two units over our goal which was awesome considering the flu has there donor numbers down. We also had FIVE first time donors! AWESOME!!

The food drive didn't fair as well as last year, but definitely not complaining.

I'll get images proofed and online sometime next week.

Leave me some feedback in the comments section here or on the facebook page. Let me know how we can make this event even better next year. Can't wait!

Take care and talk to you all real soon!

Blood Donors Needed

I'm getting a bit nervous. I need seven more donors and only have six days left. The Red Cross is in a real need for donors. I received this just a few days ago:

"Please encourage everyone that can to sign up. The Red Cross issued a statement this week that says how low our blood supply is right now because people are not able to donate due to the flu and other illnesses. Because of that, we need every healthy donation we can get. If your running into a lot of illness and reluctance to donate, encourage those who can’t to recruit someone who can."

Ghastly. Ghoulish. Ghostly. Giving? Redefine Halloween by donating blood. It could save the life of a ghost or goblin close to you.

October is here. For many of us, thoughts drift to candy, costumes and carving pumpkins. But for many patients at area hospitals, the only treat that’s sure to please is a blood donation.

Blood transfusions are used for trauma victims—due to accidents and burns—heart surgery patients, organ transplant patients, newborns and premature babies, complications during childbirth and patients receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease.

tonya shelton PHOTOGRAPHY will hold their Halloween Charity Bash and Open House on Saturday, October 31st. The event, which benefits the American Red Cross and local food bank, will run from 9am to 2pm and 1pm to 5pm, respectively.

The American Red Cross donor bus will be at the studio from 9am to 2pm. Please call Tonya at 620-842-3879 to schedule your blood donation. Halloween portraits will be taken from 1pm to 5pm in exchange for food donations.

Tonya and her volunteers appreciate the blessings they have and believe it is never too early to encourage our children to develop the habit of sharing with others less fortunate.
